On September 6, 2004 I was stuck in Maryborough for a short time while some repair work was carried out on our car. I had my camera with me so I took the opportunity to take a walk up the road beside the EDI plant just to see what I could find.
It is quite an amazing place situated not far from the CBD and crammed into a small piece of land that really prevents any expansion of the plant. Unlike some other plants you can see so much just by walking along Zante Street.
A lot of the final fitting out is actually done along the side of a public road and I was able to walk down the footpath and photograph work being carried out on three locomotives and several suburban cars that form part of a large order for the Perth suburban network.
The photos almost follow my walk down the street so just click on the thumb to be taken to the big pic or start at the first thumb and then follow the navigation from one photo to the next.
